Challenges
As a publicly traded company, the client is required to adhere to various compliance regulations, including Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) and Payment Card Industry (PCI). Any security gaps within the company’s systems would result in serious regulatory repercussions, as well as the possibility of exposing sensitive customer data.
Another challenge was one that commonly occurs within technology systems – outdated folders, files and information were taking up valuable space and memory on the system. Before installation of superior software and systems could even begin, CBI had to work closely with the clients’ internal IT security team to complete a thorough clean-up initiative.
Solution
After performing a deep dive evaluation of the immediate and long-term security issues, CBI recommended implementing the Symantec Control Compliance Suite (CCS). CCS identified the potentially disastrous security gaps and procedural process flaws, after which CBI developed a solution that not only filled those gaps, but also drove to the root cause of system failure. By identifying and nullifying the origin of the potential problem, the client has avoided recurring security vulnerabilities, saving the company time and money.
Results
By discovering and eliminating numerous security vulnerabilities through the successful implementation of CCS, CBI ensured that the client’s system is secure and protected on an ongoing basis. The potential regulatory compliance issues at play were eradicated along with the vulnerabilities, ensuring that the confidential data of the client’s customers is protected and the company continues to meet strenuous government requirements.
